What kind of fertilizer is best for flowering trees & shrubs?
The spikes that you hammer into the ground, or the water soluble fertilizer, or the granules that you just sprinkle on the ground? I live in Southern California and this is for azaleas, camellias, and a Crepe Myrtle.
Here in Missouri I have used MiracleGrow Organic fertilizer for my flowers. I don’t know how it would do out there, but for me it has done wonderful. In my flower beds we put a layer of top soil and then a layer of Miracle Grow on then took a hand rake and mixed the two together. I also water in the evenings around 9pm. or 9:30 pm. and I water about every two to three days. But then, I also rake and mix the mixture of soil every three weeks to keep the soil fertile.
