knock out rose
About rose bushes and Japanese beetles ?
I noticed a beetle on my rose bush this week. I knocked it off the flower and let it go, not realizing what it was. I saw it, or another, again today on another flower on the same rose bush, and knocked it on the grass and squashed the little bugger. Are these something that there will be a lot of ? Or are they few ? I read some info today about how destructive they can be, but I don’t know if I will find a lot of them and will need some type of spray, or if I can control them by squishing or drowning them in soapy water ? I have only 3 rose bushes, and 1 flowering almond. They don’t seem to care about my veggie garden.
you can control them by picking and drowning them. They are pretty stupid. It is best to do it in the evening, because they are less active and will just sit there for you. This is what I have been doing. after the first 3 days, I only go out once or twice a week now.
